Preparing for Change: A Further Price Update from ABU

It’s your comms doggo *again*, and today we’re here with a short but essential heads-up.
Starting Friday, April 18th, diaper prices on most lines in our US store will increase by $10 per bag.
We’re letting you know now so you have time to plan, ask questions, or stock up before the change takes effect.
This is not a decision we’ve made lightly. It’s a response to one of the most significant and fast-moving shifts in trade and import costs we’ve ever faced.
❗Why the Increase?
Since January, the tariffs on our core diaper products have skyrocketed from 7.5% to over 150% in just a few months. These sudden increases are tied to the escalating trade war between the USA and China, with tariffs and retaliatory measures being updated at breakneck pace, often with little notice and even less guidance.
As a US-based importer, we’re required to pay these charges upfront before your diapers even land at our warehouse. With a constant stream of products moving toward the US, we urgently need to adjust pricing now so we can continue to operate smoothly and reliably.
🧮 No Markup – Just Math
This $10 increase is not marked up. It reflects the raw increase in our cost to get each bag to you.
While most businesses would apply a standard retail margin to any increase in the cost of goods, we’ve chosen not to. Instead, we’re simply passing the tariff through, with no multiplier or padding.
Why? Because ABU isn’t just a company; we’re part of the ABDL community. While these changes are painful, we’re doing everything possible to remain fair, honest, and transparent. As the overall situation continues to change, we will respond dynamically to further increases or, hopefully, decreases.
