BEEP... BEEP... BEEP... 🚨
The warning light flashes red on the console as the sound of the alarm echoes through the halls of your spacecraft, as you slowly awake.
You feel weightless, floating softly a few meters away from your flight chair, your seat’s straps keeping you in place. Blinking a few times, you move your finger tips, wiggle your toes, and gently shake the last of the fuzzies from your head. Kicking your legs softly, there’s the distinct crinkle of your diaper from under your flight suit, still audible over the beeping alarm.
As your consciousness returns, you ponder what had happened before you were knocked out.
Your cargoship was in the process of a jump between two systems, carrying a stock of thick and absorbent ABUniverse diapers for a newly created space station orbiting a gas giant.
Everything seemed to have gone as planned: freshly changed for the long trip, favorite tunes prepared, coordinates punched into the computer, and destination confirmed and locked.
You watched as the star-lined space around you concaved, as your ship launched into warp.
But, looking out the window now, what lay ahead of you wasn’t the blue gas giant you had plotted in the console, but what looked to be a rocky planet, green in hue, with a ring of asteroids orbiting it.
Then it hit you!
A few minutes into your warp jump, when you were mindfully enjoying your favorite tune, the nav computer flashed an alert. A blackhole had opened in the course, and your ship was barreling towards its center!
You scrambled to correct your ship’s course, but the ship had already been grabbed by the blackhole’s gravity! And it would only be a few seconds before you passed through the epicenter!
You closed your eyes, gripping your harness tight and bracing for the other side…
And now here you were, a lil soggier than before, but all intact!
Reaching over to your nav computer, you attempt to understand where in the galaxy your ship and its fluffy cargo had been sent.
ERROR: LOCATION UNDETERMINED – STAR POSITIONS NOT MATCHING
The screen flashed.
How is this possible?! You think to yourself. The nav computer is loaded with all the star positions in the Milky Way!
Then the realization hits you. The nav computer can’t locate the stars because you are not in the Milky Way!
You start kicking your feet excitedly, your swollen diaper crinkly. You had entered a new galaxy!
Looking back out the window towards the new world ahead of you, you kick the engines back into ignition, plotting a course towards the new, strange planet.
With a cargo full of the best diapers in any galaxy, maybe it won’t be so bad to be Lost in Little Space!
